Was it that long ago when churches were the center of American community life? Yet today the local officials can and do deem them "non-essential." And the governor of a major state can go out of his way to proclaim that God has nothing to do with stemming the spread of the coronavirus. Worse yet,  do Christians buy into the idea that churches are non-essential.
